Moe Pramanick (she/her) is a Sindhi-Bengali artist based in Toronto. Moe’s practice, which includes illustration, public art and workshop, is an attempt to document and communicate with life in the city. She is inspired by visual representations of her people as beautiful, funky, in rhythm and in resistance. Moe is interested in creating shared spaces for experimentation and revision.

Spending a month at Similkameen artist residency was dream-like. As a self taught working artist, I rarely have extended time and space to experiment, practice and slow down my art practice. So this felt like a big luxury.

The landscape and pace of life in Keremeos helped me slow down mentally and focus on my practice. It also helped that my studio space had the most unreal view.

Some highlights were spotting mountain goats on the property, a field trip to the Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory, and watching Rocky Horror on Halloween with the other artists (all of whom were incredibly talented and gave me so much to learn from). And riding the studio bike!
