Wayfinding

The Similkameen Artist Residency log cabin is located just off of Highway 3, about 4 km West of Keremeos, BC.

Driving:

It is approximately a 40min. drive North to Penticton, and about 1.5hour drive to Kelowna.

Leaving from Vancouver, BC it is about a 4 hour drive, taking Highway 1 to Hope, BC and then Highway 3 to Keremeos, BC.

As you approach the dirt driveway going West on Highway 3, it can be located on the left, on the opposite side from the rest stop, before entering Keremeos.

If you miss the driveway, grab some fresh produce in town and make a right turn from the highway on your way back!

Bus Service:

There is one bus service, that connects from Vancouver to Keremeos twice a week through Mountain Man Mike’s Bus Service.

It departs Saturday and Wednesday heading West to Vancouver, and arrives Sunday and Thursday heading East as far as Kaslo.

Please see their website for booking and more info.

Car Rental and Carshare:

Some AiR’s in the past have used a car rental leaving from Vancouver or shared a ride with other artists departing from the city. Carshare or carpools apps such as Poparide have also been used to get a ride to Keremeos however this is less reliable.

Please Note: As the residency takes place in a fairly remote location, we strongly encourage those who apply to have access to a vehicle. Although the town of Keremeos is close by, it is accessed along the highway and is therefore dangerous to walk on. Those who do not have vehicles, please indicate on their application so that we can ensure that another resident who has a car is present and willing to drive to town bi-weekly for grocery and errand runs.
