Lewis is making spaces that explore alternatives to the Anthropocene. Primarily addressing the planet, its processes, and its materials, his work tackles human preconceptions of permanence and geological impacts. Using a strong theoretical foundation, he builds sculpture and installation works with narrative elements, resulting in spaces that engage with the human sensorium.

I could not think of a more inspiring and striking environment to work within than that of the Similkameen Artist Residency. The Log House served as a comfortable and welcoming home base for my outdoor and indoor projects. Situated in the centre of the beautiful Similkameen Valley, the unique scenery provided me with the much-needed inspiration to develop my practice materially and theoretically. I was grateful to be able to produce a site-specific installation on the grounds of the Residency, engaging with both the histories and possible futures of the land and its people.
