SAR was my first artist residency fresh out of my undergraduate studies and it was the perfect location, space and time to get back into a studio grind. Having the studios so accessible at all hours allowed for great flexibility and the private and communal spaces felt cozy and homey. Outside the cabin, the valley has a way of creeping into your studio practice, even if you’re not a landscape painter. I’d love to return again, it was a really special experience.
